Updates to ACAC Direction for providing services under eased pandemic restrictions

Dear Colleagues,
With the dynamic and fluid environment around COVID-19, the ACAC continues to review the ACAC Pandemic Practice Direction for providing care under eased pandemic restrictions. We know how challenging this time is for each or you and for Albertans.
ACAC Council reviewed and approved both new and updated requirements and recommendations to the practice direction to help ensure you can continue to provide safe care under the current pandemic restrictions.

The new and updated information has been highlighted in the practice directive for your consideration and implementation in your clinic environment.

Recommendations:

- Exclusion from Work for COVID-19
- Managing Exposure to Symptomatic Patients (Point of Care Risk Assessment leads to a response of a patient manifesting symptoms during care).

- Policy and procedure for cleaning and disinfection of toys.
The ACAC will provide a COVID-19 update this Thursday with further information on the current COVID-19 environment and more information on how to use Point of Care Risk Assessment.
